Default Elemental Flame - why does it not have a counter

how come this particular hex does not have a counter like other hex do, for instant, lingering curse, deep freeze ... etc

[Elemental Flame] does anyone how elemental flame work actually, I've been using it for a whole day yesterday, and try very hard to calculate when enemy will start burning for 5 seconds, as you can see it is a hex and theres no little icon shown on your screen that tells you when it end so it very hard to know when it does end... any help is welcome.

Thanks

Well say you put that one a guy, and you hex him with blurred vision. When Blurred vision ends he will be set on fire for 5 seconds (or less).

because hexes don't have icons in the effects monitor for their duration, unless if they are on you, and you hex a foe.

ah-sooooooo, its a chain skill thingy. i see i see, so it does not means when the hex end, the enemy will be set on fire. hrmz, no wander it cos so little energy. bleh.

One more question: so as a hex itself [elemental flame] when it ends without players casting another hex on the opponent, does it still able to trigger the 5 seconds burning?

Yes. It does count itself when it ends. Both when it ends naturally and when it's removed.

You say that you are the one casting it. In that case, why would it have a counter? Hexes never have a duration counter for the caster. You just have to time it by hand.

Also, if you're using it in PvP you can use the game timer to help with this.

There's a counter for everything. Try casting it on someone using Hex Breaker. Or Armor of Frost.
-edit- Oh! I misinterpreted the word 'counter' to mean what you would use to negate or counter this skill. My bad, you mean a timer showing your foe's hex durations. ^ poster ahead of me answered that; you just have to know your skills and have good timing.

lol i thought he meant a hex breaker counter and not a duration counter as well xD

it's a pity, because this skill could be very useful, but i don't see very many people taking up a skill slot for this. i know i wouldn't.

duration counters for hexes that you cast are a good idea tho, but i guess for now, we will just have to stop being lazy and use our brains

I think the best combo for this is to pair it with spells like [shard storm] or [Ice Spikes], to round out the build maybe [Freezing Gust][Glowing Ice][Glowing Gaze][Shatterstone]

Not a high dmg build but could be extemely anoying in AB.

Because it's quite a bad skill.
You can also take a look at Shatterstone aswell.

Except Shatterstone deals straight-up damage.

For pressure (Elemental Flame's purpose) in the Fire Magic skill line, Immolate would be a better choice as it deals minimal damage, causes Burning and has a recharge of 3.

Glyph of immolation is better at anything you'd want elemental flame to do on a water bar.

Use Shatterstone+Elemental Flame+Steamin that order..Shatterstone should end almost instantly before steam hits resulting in a fair bit of damage and blind too.. you can then follow up with another spell if you like. At 14 water magic you will inflict 95+95+96 damage. I guess that could work in RA or AB..

if you're looking to use it in pve, just go with mark of rodgort-glowing gaze. glowing gaze is just for e-managment if needed, but once MoR is on them, you can just wand them and they will stay on fire.
my pve fire build consists of
glowing gaze- liquid flame- fireball - savannha heat - and MoR. at 16 fire magic you take out most groups in seconds, depending on the bunching up of the enemy group.

By the way, it does have counters.
Any skill that prevents being target of enemy spells or skills.
